Weig Karton is one of the leaders in Europe in the production of cardboard and cardboard packaging from recycled paper. In this regard, the company pays great attention to the quality of the raw materials used and the safety of the packaged products. Weig Karton pays great attention to the implementation of innovations in the field of paper recycling, environmental protection and the rational use of natural resources. Since paper recycling allows the reuse of raw materials, they reduce the volume of waste, reducing the load on landfills, and contribute to the reduction of deforestation. We are very grateful to the representatives of Weig Karton for the unique opportunity to visit the company and get acquainted with all stages of its work. It was an unforgettable experience that expanded our knowledge of modern methods of paper production and recycling.
The visit began with a fascinating lecture about the company, its mission, goals and principles. We learned that Weig Karton was founded in 1931 in Germany and today the company occupies a leading position in the production of recycled cardboard, packaging and waste paper recycling.
We were given also a very interesting information on the processes of collecting and sorting waste paper, the stages of processing and manufacturing paper, and the specifics of the operation of a paper-making machine. Particular attention was paid to methods of cleaning raw materials from paint and observing sanitary and hygienic standards.
Next, we went on a tour of the company’s production facilities, where we had the opportunity to observe the entire process of paper creation firsthand. We were really convinced that the paper production process is a complex and high-tech system. The main raw material for the factory is recycled waste paper, which are pre-crushed and cleaned. The raw material is converted into paper pulp, from which a continuous web is formed. Further processing includes removing excess moisture and compacting the material, which ensures the density and structure of the future paper. After this, the web passes through drying cylinders, where residual moisture is removed. The final stage is finishing, when the paper acquires smoothness or special coatings, as well as cutting or winding into rolls for further use.
Every stage was demonstrated and explained by the company’s professional specialists. Modern Weig Karton paper-making machines allow to produce paper of various characteristics at high speed and minimal loss of raw materials, which makes the process economical and environmentally friendly. We were impressed by the modern equipment, automation of processes, and the company’s commitment to environmental care at every step.
Visiting Weig Karton left us with vivid impressions and valuable experience. We highly appreciate their efforts and commitment to sustainable development. This visit was not only an opportunity to observe the operations of a large-scale production facility but also an inspiration for us to further explore modern technologies in packaging and recycling.
